Meld

Terms of use

Last updated October 25, 2026

The rules for using Meld. Short version: use it to keep score, have fun, and double-check anything that matters.

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Dylan Bono ("we", "us") for the Meld app and this website. By downloading or using Meld, you agree to them. Meld is also licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If the two conflict, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.

2. Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Meld on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's usage rules. You may not copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, or try to reverse engineer it, except where the law allows it.

3. What Meld is for

Meld is a scorekeeping tool for pinochle. It's for keeping track of friendly games and isn't meant for gambling or wagering. Meld does the math from what you enter, so the score is only as right as the numbers that go in. Please double-check anything that matters to your table.

4. Your data

The names and scores you enter belong to you and stay on your device, as described in our privacy policy. You're responsible for keeping your own backups. If you delete the app or lose your device, your games may be lost.

5. Purchases

If Meld offers in-app purchases, they're sold through the App Store and governed by Apple's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

6. Ownership

The Meld name, icon, design and software belong to Dylan Bono. Pinochle itself is a traditional game, and we claim no ownership of its rules.

7. No warranty

Meld is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the app will be error-free or always available.

8. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of Meld. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Meld, if anything.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using Meld at any time by deleting it. If you break these terms, your license ends automatically.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. Using Meld after a change means you accept the updated terms.
