Last updated October 25, 2026Answers to common questions about scoring with Meld, and how to reach me.
How does Meld score a hand?
Each hand has 250 trick points. The team that took the bid adds its meld to the trick points it won. If that total reaches the bid, the team scores it. If it falls short, or the team took no tricks, they're set and lose the amount of the bid.
The other team scores its meld plus its trick points, but its meld only counts if it took at least one trick.
What does “Drop the 0” do?
Lots of tables write 25 instead of 250. With Drop the 0 turned on, every number in Meld drops its last zero. You play to 150, and the minimum bid and meld values scale down the same way. You can switch it anytime in Settings.
I entered a hand wrong. Can I fix it?
Yes. Tap any hand on the scoreboard to edit it. To take back the hand you just saved, open the menu at the top right of the scoreboard and choose Undo last hand.
Where can I see what each meld is worth?
While you're entering meld, open the meld guide. It lists every meld with its cards, and you can switch between single and double.
Can I change the score we play to?
Yes. Meld plays to 1,500 by default. You can set your own target when you start out and change it later in Settings.
Does Meld work for three players or double deck?
Not yet. Meld scores four-player partnership pinochle. If you'd like another version, email me and tell me how your table plays.
Are my games backed up?
Your games are stored on your device and are included in your regular iCloud or computer backup. If you delete Meld, its games are deleted too.
Still stuck?
Email me and I'll help. For a bug, include your device and iOS version and what you were doing when it happened.
